Is there a way to tell if you have sprained or twisted your ankle?
Asked 4 years ago
I have quite a sharp pain in my ankle and don't really want to go all the way to the doctor if it isn't that serious. Does anyone know how I can tell by myself?

A sprained ankle is excruciatingly painful. Other signs and symptoms include a popping sound at the time of the injury, swelling, bruising, and tenderness to the touch. A total tear of the ligament or complete dislocation of the ankle joint might result in ankle instability. As mentioned before, my grandma used support and pressure relieving orthotics to support and cushion foot as she monitored symptoms.
