How can I make my own custom orthotics at home?
Asked 3 years ago
Is it possible to make DIY custom orthotics at home? Is there a kit that I can buy online to do this, or would it be better to have them done professionally?

You can make your own orthotics if over-the-counter would work for you. However, for custom orthotics, you'll need a professional who can certify that your orthotics “customly” fit your feet and condition. Services such as Upstep have an option of mailing you impression blocks for you to make an imprint of each foot, which are assessed to design an orthotic that fits the condition and needs. Research has shown that wrongly prescribed orthotics might aggravate rather than correct the condition. I hope this helps you make the right decision

It is usually not recommended to DIY your own orthotics as this could potentially lead the the worsening of your condition that you are trying to mitigate. Over-the-counter orthotics can be purchased and molded to the shape of your feet at home, but may not be as beneficial in managing the condition you are struggling with. Custom-made orthotics by Upstep are casted in the comfort of your own home and prove to be the best orthotics for a range of health and sporting needs. Upstep's orthotics and money-back guarantee does, however, come at an added cost compared to over-the-counter orthotics, but are the best option when looking for a long-term and effective solution.
