Will OTC anti-inflammatory drugs help reduce AT pain and swelling?

Asked 3 years ago

Good day, I have been diagnosed with Achilles Tendonitis, and the pain is unbearable. I've been told that it is inflamed, hence the swelling and tenderness. Is there any OTC medication you can recommend? Whether it's painkillers or a topical ointment, I'm all ears.

If Achilles tendonitis is mild, over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs may be enough to reduce the pain and swelling. Generally, ibuprofen and naproxen are the most recommended OTC drugs for pain. A topical gel like Voltaren can also prove handy. However, for the best medication, you should consult your healthcare provider.
