What to do if my podiatrist gave me an orthotic that does not seem to cushion my sore spot in my heel?
Asked 4 years ago
My podiatrist gave me an orthotic that doesn't have a cushion under the sore spot in my heel. I feel like I’m walking on a hard part of the orthotic that helps the arch area. Anyone else have that? I think I need a bigger cushion.

They never helped me despite the fact that I used them for a long period. Following that, I began experimenting with different brands, with better results. It turned out that a cushioned orthotic was not what I had hoped for. My heel was in such excruciating pain that the only thing that made sense was to put something cushiony on it. I eventually tried a HARD orthotic called PCS Sole 3/4 that made no sense but helped me with my PF. It doesn't make logic, but it helped me strengthen my calf and foot. I am no longer in agony due to PF. This orthotic did not heal me, but it did provide better support WHILE I was doing my exercises. Get well soon.
