Is there a link between plantar fasciitis and psoriatic arthritis?

Asked 3 years ago

The location of the pain in the two cases seems to be in similar regions. This got me wondering if there is any link between the two?

Yes. Plantar fasciitis in associated with a heel spur (a bony growth that frequently occurs with plantar fasciitis) is a prevalent trigger of psoriatic arthritis foot pain. In some cases, psoriatic arthritis causes inflammation of the fasciae beneath the feet, resulting in plantar fasciitis. You may experience pain on the bottom of your foot near the heel, particularly when taking your first steps in the morning.
