How do I know if my plantar fasciitis is getting better?
Asked 3 years ago
Does plantar fasciitis get worse before it starts to get better? I've been stretching my ankle, wearing orthotics, massaging it, etc., and it is feeling slightly better, but some days are worse than others. How do I know if it's getting better or not?

If you’ve observed that your initial few steps each morning are becoming more bearable, you’re probably on the correct track. While sleeping, try wearing compression orthotics to increase blood circulation to your foot. While there is no such thing as ideal pain, localized discomfort in the heel of the foot is undoubtedly promising. This is also a step in the right direction if you've discovered that you can walk normally without too much pain. If your range of motion has returned to normal, this indicates that healing has begun. Despite the fact that discomfort may still be present, stretching the calf, pulling the foot toward your chest, and raising your toes are all encouraging activities for a recovering plantar fascia. When cramps, apparent tightness, bruising, and swelling start to subside, you're on the correct track.
