If you have shin splints, how long should you rest?

I really want to get back to running, but I have been told that I need to rest due to my shin splints. How long should I wait before I can run again?

You need at least 1 to 3 weeks of rest from your exercise, running or any kind of sports.

You have to avoid the repetitive exercise of your lower leg for 1 to 2 weeks. Keep your physical activity to just the walking that you perform during your regular day.
