Will putting orthotic insoles into my basketball shoes make me jump higher?
Asked 3 years ago
Hi, I had this crazy thought that maybe, since orthotic insoles improve performance, they should also allow me to jump higher? It would be such a cool hack if possible! Is this far-fetched? Let me know!

With jumps and constant running, basketball is a sport that puts a lot of pressure on your feet. But after the use of insoles, it can give required protection to prevent injuries. A quality insole can help you jump better and higher on the basketball court. Moreover, it should also help your feet to move better while you run and spin.

No footwear or insoles will magically increase your jumping prowess, but a good quality insole will improve comfort and allow you to reach your maximum potential on the court. Basketball is a fast paced, sprint heavy sport that puts a lot of pressure on the soles of the feet. Proper support can improve performance and help prevent injury.

A quality insole can help you achieve peak performance in any sport by ensuring maximum energy efficiency. The increase in efficiency may help you better recruit your lower limb muscles and jump higher. Combined with improving comfort and reducing the risk of injury, this is the best an insole can do to improve your performance.
