Are orthotics necessary for plantar fasciitis?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi, I went to a doctor the other day because my left foot has been incredibly sore, and they told me I've got plantar fasciitis. They gave me some stretches to do and painkillers. They also suggested that I try out orthotics. I looked online, and they seem really expensive. Do I have to have orthotics? Thank you in advamce.

Sometimes Plantar Fasciitis heals by itself, but orthotics can speed up the healing process, and relieve pain at the same time. So they are a treatment and in some cases, a cure. For some people, Plantar Fasciitis can be a chronic condition, in which case the orthotics are just for relieving pain.

Depending on the severity of your symptoms, custom orthotics may be necessary for treating plantar fasciitis. While they may be expensive, they are often more effective. They are also more durable and longer-lasting. Overall, purchasing a custom orthotic for your plantar fasciitis is worth it, even if it may be expensive.
