What are the best insoles or orthotics for Plantar Fasciitis?
Asked 4 years ago
If I just want to go purchase a generic set of insoles or orthotics for my plantar fasciitis, what should I be looking out for?

Plantar fasciitis shoe inserts reduce pain by decreasing pronation (the foot rolling inward). The finest insoles for plantar fasciitis should have firm support, a perfect fit that replicates the shape of your arch, a deep heel cup, and durable cushioning. Insoles with easily deflecting arches or those constructed of soft foam will not work.
Orthotic inserts custom-made for your foot can provide solid support without sacrificing comfort. But, if you must use OTC or generic orthotics, choose the firm ones with extra cushioning.
Lastly, always ask yourself this: Which one will be more expensive if a non-fitting generic orthotic makes things worse?
