How long do work boot insoles last?

Asked 3 years ago

I desperately need to buy insoles for my work boots because my feet are killing me! But I need to know the lifespan of insoles before I buy some of my own. How long do UpStep orthotics last?

How long your work boot insoles will last depends on the quality of manufacturing materials, the type of use and the frequency. Activities in work boots are often high-intensity activities. Thus, work boot insoles typically last for about 6-12 months. Ensure you always look out for any sign of wear.

Custom orthotics have been said to last for a period of 1 to 2 years depending on the quality of the materials the orthotic/insole is manufactured out of, as well as the frequency and duration of time wearing the orthotics during the month. People who are heavier will notice that their orthotics may need replacing sooner than those that weight less; likewise, wearing the orthotics day in and day out will mean that they will need to be replaced sooner as well. Acquiring a well-made orthotic will usually last longer than an over-the counter insole. Looking for signs of wear and tear is helpful in preventing issues arising in the feet due to worn-down orthotics, and may then need to be replaced or if the insole is causing pain/discomfort.
